The Science Behind Our Name

Why Codon?

A small sequence.
A meaningful connection.

In biology, a codon is a three-letter unit of genetic information. During protein synthesis, cells read codons in messenger RNA to determine which amino acid comes next—or when to stop.

Peptides are short chains of amino acids. That is the connection behind our name: biological instructions link to the building blocks we study.

At Codon Academy, that connection also describes how we learn. Start with the fundamentals, ask thoughtful questions, and build understanding together.

The RNA codon GCA specifies alanine, one amino acid. Amino acids link together into peptide chains. Other codons can signal stop.
